I was hoping somebody could help me make a final decision between these schools. Which school has the best engineering school electrical engineering? Which school will give me the best overall college experience social life, parties, etc.
Which school will make me feel the most at home? Are you a resident of the State of Kansas? All three will properly prepare you to be an electrical engineer.
The campuses are all different, however. Lawrence is the iconic American college town, with a plus being that it is not terribly far from metropolitan Kansas City. I have heard positive things about the student experience at Manhattan, Kansas. KSU is relatively small for a major state university. Mizzou is a mega campus with all the bells and whistles of stereotypical college life.
Lawrence is a great college town. Wherever you end up going, you'll end up hating the other by the time you graduate Pretty equal schools. In terms of business, if you end up in KC, being from KU will be a better "in" than Mizzou, but if you want to end up in St. Louis, then going to Mizzou would be the better "in" as far as networking and stuff goes. There's not enough to substantially differentiate them, without starting to get into characteristics of fit.
Columbia is bigger than Lawrence, but farther away from really big cities. You'll be borderline for both, but I think you'll get in based on GPA. We accept class rank and test score data from your sixth, seventh or eighth semester of high school.
If you attend a high school which does not rank its students, your admission will not be negatively affected: Students from non-ranking high schools are admitted based on academic achievement and ACT or SAT scores.
