The camera doesn't automatically drop back to low or simply deliver a slower burst like it did with the T6i, so if you have it set to continuous AF and High-speed continuous shooting, don't be surprised when the shots come out inconsistently exposed with only the first few in focus. The safest thing to do is keep it on the slower setting 4. It's OK in low light, but like the 80D is a bit slower than the rest at low-light autofocus. You probably won't notice, though. It also depends on the lens; some are faster than others at driving to the correct position.
As with the 80D, the T7i has very nice live view performance, just a little slower than when using the optical viewfinder. That will always be true on a dSLR because it has to flip the mirror for every shot.
It's still much better than on the Nikon D, so if you plan to shoot using the back LCD a lot -- this goes for video, too -- then you still need to get one of the recent-vintage Canons. While the camera body hasn't changed since the T6i, Canon did introduce a new "easy" interface with the T7i generation to replace the last "easy" interface. The shooting display doesn't offer any different options, but does look more modern and attractive, with bright imagery and more explanatory text.
The guided menu option, simply pops up an interstitial screen telling you what a given submenu does. The feature guide isn't new, and gets old really fast. The rest of the body is pretty standard for a dSLR, comfortable to grip but big compared to competitors like the Nikon D or smaller mirrorless models.
It feels sturdy, if a bit plasticky. There are direct access controls for most functions, something you get when you step up from a bare-bones entry-level model, and a nice set of autofocus options for its class -- including selectable zones -- thanks to the upgrade to Canon's Dual Pixel CMOS sensor.
It also supports full wireless flash control, if you're looking for a relatively cheap camera with it. However, as with most inexpensive dSLRs, there's no 4K video. There isn't a lot to say about the camera; Canon has been incrementally improving it since the series launched in and it's always been a good-but-not-great camera with a lot of fans. Unless you have specific speed needs for shooting action or need something with better build quality, you probably won't regret buying this; it's a solid all-around choice.

Not sure I understand what you're recommendation to a beginner would be, but as far as gear for someone to learn the concepts of photography, I have no qualms recommending some basic Canon gear, starting with a Rebel DSLR. The kit lens will give them the normal range, and though it's not fast, stopped down in good lighting it will yield nice results.
A mm lens is a good performing stabilized lens with decent range, enough to get their feet wet in outdoor sports or wildlife shooting. It was and still amazing.
I still use it Underwater photography. Which offers lots of small, quality lenses for lower price tag. And M43 system goes strong. Any investment to M43 has more future not just in photography but also in videography. And even with the expensive advanced ones you're limited in how much you can learn from them. Because that's exactly what I did, eventually. I'd be far more comfortable recommending m43 if they want compact, or CanNikon if they think they want unfettered access to lenses with the most options and flexibility.

The Pentax can Pixel-shift making resolution and noise performance a lot better in situations where there is no movement or when it is far enough into the distance.
It doesn't actually increase the resolution of the sensor, but it makes better use of it because it cancels out interpolation of sub pixels. The pentaprism and weather sealing make it a better option than the Nikon.
Also your manual lenses are stabilized by the Pentax. If you don't need tracking AF then it is clearly the winner over the Nikon. The in-body stabilization may not work with these lenses on the Pentax because being non-electronic lenses they don't report any data back to the camera. I had this problem with a Rokinon lens on my Sony a In body stabilization works on any lens.

I can only think of G6. What else? It's to me a lovable camera using primes for street photography and concerts due to its discretion and ISO capability. That makes total sense my friend, I was just under the impression that it would be treated along the lines of the A series, where the newest release wasn't exactly a replacement, but to be sold in tandem. What constitutes "replaced"? It's still in stock on Amazon, and it may be a loose variation of the A6K sony series, where the A was introduced but the A stays.
You can still buy a Nikon D new on Amazon, and it's 2 generations old now. People have even seen new Ds on brick and mortar shelves. That's because Nikon likes to heavily over stock their vendors. The A is still in production, with a graphite version announced at the end of last year.
Sony claims the A is their low end mirrorless, with the A in the middle, and A on top. So they're all current until the II versions come out. I prefer Pentax cameras considering the features they give. The two twin dials, pentaprism viee finders and In Body Image Stabilisation themselves are enough to choose Pentax. The AF is a little slow but enough for most of the purooses unless you are doing sports photography.
And, video is not one of Pentax strengths. Because of the crazy price raised, the same camera change the quality? That is a non-sens!
